About the Pastor
Greetings. I am Pastor Glenn Wenzel of St. Paul Lutheran Church. I have served at St. Paul Riverside since July of 1988 ministering to the spiritual needs of our people. Besides my pastoral duties at times I have also served as principal of our school and classroom teacher. This involvement has given me a broad understanding and appreciation for our people and our ministries. The great joy of being a pastor is working with people of all ages, serving their needs and helping them grow in their Christian lives.
I grew up in a small Midwestern town in Wisconsin, attending both a Lutheran grade school and high school. In 1974 I graduated from Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree. From there I went on to Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, from which I graduated in 1978 with a Master of Divinity degree.
My first call was to Beverly Hills, Florida, a mission congregation in the central part of the state. In December of 1980 I accepted the call to a new mission in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Since 1988 I have been here at St. Paul in Riverside.
My wife, Nancy, and I have been blessed by God with seven children, all of whom are now adults. We presently haveĀ four grandchildren.
